Personal update: I have been on a very strict soci

Personal update: I have been on a very strict social media diet for months. Life has been so hard, even as it’s also been singularly beautiful. Professionally, there have been so many wins: I just turned in my second book, I have been honored to have #tucoboat included in some amazing lists of “bests,” I’ve been drafting something COMPLETELY new and I am OBSESSED with it, and it’s still just for me—nobody in the publishing business knows it exists yet. ▪️ Personally, we bought a house, moved our very special family to the other side of the DMV, and life with my boys has been bright and beautiful. ▪️ But also, life has been so very hard. Professionally, I’ve worked through hard deadlines, felt guilty for being less online (and wondered if I’ve ruined my career by stepping back), I’ve been shadowed by comparison and self doubt. ▪️ and personally, I’ve still battled such deep loneliness. I want so badly to find smart, funny, brave women who can laugh with me and also mourn for the darkness burdening our communities and our country. It’s very hard to be a person with profound anxiety in times like these.✨ I am trying only to show myself as much grace as I can. I am trying to love my family, find joy in small moments, and have hope that my friends-to-be will find me soon. ✨I am still going to be offline most of the time, but my messages, DMs, texts, and emails are all open if anyone wants to reach out. ♥️ take care of yourself and others. Keep fighting and keep creating. Keep laughing and crying and worrying and dreaming.
